Yes, particularly if school fees can be afforded from
income. However, some parents are unable to afford to pay school fees from
surplus income. After a divorce, difficult decisions often have to be made in
order to cover the cost of school fees. Parents may need to re-evaluate their
financial situation and make compromises by releasing capital from existing
assets or using surplus income in order to afford the school fees. In some
situations, although disruption to a child’s routine is preferably avoided, a
child may need to move schools to somewhere more affordable.
