Mediation is fast becoming the preferred method to resolve family law problems – when it works, it’s much cheaper and quicker than going to court. However, when couples separate, they are often faced with a baffling amount of legal processes and trying to find answers on the net doesn’t always help.
Rather than a separating couple talking only through lawyers, mediators can guide both through the maze of rules and procedures to achieve a fair resolution of all issues that they face.
I and my colleague Benjamin Carter have been family lawyers for many years so we know what we are talking about when we set out to help our clients. We realise what a responsibility it is to work with a separating couple at what is often the most sensitive time of their lives. They need to resolve issues, particularly relating to money and children, in a fair and positive way so that each person has their say and are able work together even though they might find it difficult trust each other.
Ben and I mediate from our offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and central London. We are always happy to speak on the phone without charge before you commit to hiring us.
Also, if you have used a family mediator and want to comment on what made the experience good or bad, we'd welcome your posts below.
